What do the Hadith say about science?

O Allah (The Exalted) bless the One called Mahmud in the Heaven and Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) on the earth.

Embryology

Keith Moore a very well known embryologist1, his book is used in many universities; when he wrote the history of Embriology he wrote there was no history of Embriology until the microscope was invented; a person from Arabia wrote to him saying you are very wrong as the Qur’an mentions specific details. Keith Moore took it very seriously and looked into it and he stated in his recent addition which is used in the UCLA Medical school in America; the Qur’anic description of embryonic creation of the foetal cells and the movement towards a complete foetus2, it would have been impossible for someone to have that knowledge by other than divine inspiration and I have no other explanation.

The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was once asked, ‘What determines the sex of a child’? He replied, ‘There is a race between the male water and female water’.

This was the language of the 7th century, ‘and the one that gets there first will determine what it is.’ Now we know that the X chromosome is female and Y is a male this is what will determine the sex of the child.

Dates

When the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) broke his fast he broke it on dates which is sugar and he said, ‘My thirst has been quenched and my veins have been soaked with nutrition’.

If you carry out a glucose test on a fasting person soon as the fast is broken, the sugar level will increase as the glucose in the body instantly disperses soon as a sweet thing touches the tongue. Subhan-Allah!

Circulation of blood

William Harvey (1578-1657 CE) discovered that the blood circulates throughout the body in 16th century,i according to science the circulation of blood was an unknown fact until William Harvey discovered it.
