Babe Hittta
Allah states:
“And when We said, “Enter this town and eat freely from what is in it, and enter the gate whilst prostrating, and say, ‘May our sins be forgiven’ – We will forgive you your sins; and We will soon increase the reward for the righteous.”1
1 Surah Baqarah. Surah No: 2. Verse: 58
2 Surah Aa’raf. Surah No: 7. Verse: 161
3 Tabarani
Ibn Hajr al-Haytami and others mention that it was a special door in Masjid al-Aqsa that if the Bani Israil were to walk through it with humility then Allah (The Exalted) would accept their repentance.
And remember when they were commanded, “Reside in this township and eat whatever you wish in it, and say ‘Sins are forgiven’ and enter the gate prostrating – We will forgive you your sins; We shall soon bestow more upon the virtuous.”2
Sayyidina Abu Sai’d al-Khudri and Sayyidina Abu Dhar narrates that the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “The similarity of my Ahlul Bayt amongst you is like the Door of Hitta of the Children of Israel. Whoever entered it was forgiven.”3
Therefore the Ahlul-Bayt are the reason for the forgiveness of the Ummah. There are many ahadith were the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) has declared that his Ahlul Bayt are a reason for the forgiveness which is presented in the next part.
