Effects of Conquest of Makkah

10. THE EFFECT OF THE CONQUEST OF MECCA

Although a large number of people embraced Islam under the influence of above-mentioned inspirations, a group of people awaited the general victory of Islam. When Makkatul Mukarrama fell into the hands of the Glorious Prophet of Islam (Sallallhu Alaihi Wassallam), the Arabs voluntarily came forward and recited the Kalima.

Bukhari reports: “The entire Arabia was awaiting the Conquest of Makkatul Mukarrama for their conversion. They (The Arabs) used to say, ‘Let Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) settle accounts with his nation. If he overpowers them, it would be a proof that he is the true Messenger of God.’

When ultimately the Holy Prophet (Sallallhu Alaihi Wassallam) conquered Makkatul Mukarrama, people of almost all Arab tribes rushed towards the Holy Prophet (Sallallhu Alaihi Wassallam) to embrace Islam.” 1
